Scholarships

1 General scholarship of the Japan International Education Association

Who can apply
  • Students must be self-supported foreign nationals with a "College Student" visa
  • Students must not receive remittances of more than 90,000 yen per month.
  • Students must meet grade requirements.
Applications accepted
  • Will be posted on the bulletin board in front of the Student's Office in April
Grant (2005)
  • Undergraduates / 52,000 yen per month
Graduates
  • 73,000 yen per month
Grant period
  • 1 year

2 Hanazono University Scholarship Fund

Who can apply
  • Sophomores and up
  • Students with a good record who have trouble pursuing their studies for financial reasons.
  • Students must meet grade requirements.
  • Students not on any other type of scholarship
Applications accepted
  • Examination results are posted on the university’s bulletin board in June and November.
Grant (2005)
  • 300,000 yen per year
Grant period
  • 1 year

3 Jun Hashimoto Memorial Scholarship Fund

Who can apply
  • Students from East Asia (China, Korea, etc.)
  • Sophomores and up or enrolled in postgraduate programs
  • Students not on any other type of scholarship
Applications accepted
  • Will be posted on the bulletin board in front of the Student's Office in April.
Grant (2005)
  • Undergraduates / 60,000 yen per month
Graduates
  • 60,000 yen per month
Grant period
  • Least number of years up until graduation

Club activities for foreign nationals

Many students from China, Korea and other countries enroll in Hanazono University. Students of every country form a club and participate as a club in activities such as the bazaar held at the school festival.

Special program for foreign nationals

This is a special program for international students. Each May international students are invited to participate in a special overnight stay program. In 2004 the participants visited the Hokuriku region
(Fukui and Kanazawa).
